Patch Notes
We added a few enhancements to our newly created task management system and we made sharing your specifications super easy. Plus a few tweaks to how you navigate through projects.
As they say, "necessity is the mother of invention." We've been knee deep in punch out for several homes this fall and we needed an easy way to bring all of our new Tasks out into the field.
When you visit your "Tasks" tab on a project you are now able to download all your tasks in either a CSV or a PDF. The CSV is great for a situation where you want to manipulate your task data for other apps you use. The PDF is a beautifully formatted printable document. A few other notes on the PDF download:
Building houses involves a lot of people and a lot of information. Most other apps focus on making dozens of subcontractors sign up for their software so they can get the information they need. We're taking a different approach. We think forcing your subs and trades people to use software just for you is a waste of everyone's time.
Instead, we want it to be dead simple for you to create and share information with them. With our latest features you can now easily share all of your plans and selections with your subs and vendors. Here's what you need to do:
(1) Publish a Specification Package
A specification package will create a snapshot of your plans and selections at a moment in time. This means that even if you make changes in the app, they won't necessarily be displayed until you publish a new version. You can easily control when and if new changes go live to your clients, subs, or vendors.
(2) Make Your Project Shareable
On your project edit page you can easily turn sharing on and off. Optionally, you can also:
(3) Share Your Project Specifications
Lastly, you can share your specifications very easily by either copying your shareable link or printing out your QR code to scan. Personally, I send our subs the link via email and print out the QR code and hang it up on the job site.
In addition to all these new features, we also fixed a handful of bugs:
We're going to continue to revise our work on tasks and project sharing. Specifically:
