How to bulk import product selections into Fixture & Finish

The Problem: Spreadsheet Chaos and Manual Data Entry

When you start a new custom build, you often have dozens of plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, and tile selections scattered across vendor PDFs, emails, and web bookmarks. Manually typing these into a system one by one is a waste of your time.

Fixture & Finish lets you bulk import your entire selections list using a simple spreadsheet template. The system automatically extracts product details, prices, and images directly from the product URLs you provide, saving you hours of manual data entry while keeping your project organized from day one.

How it works

1. Open the Selections Library: Navigate to your project dashboard and click on the Selections Library tab in the left navigation menu.
   

1. Access the Bulk Import Tool: Click the Add Selection button. In the header of the slide-out panel, click the link that says "Need to import multiple selections?".

1. Download the Template: Click the Bulk Import Template button to download the pre-formatted spreadsheet.
2. Fill Out the Spreadsheet: Open the template spreadsheet. Enter the web address (URL) and the category for each selection you wish to import. The available categories are listed directly in the template spreadsheet so you can easily copy and paste them. Save your file when you are finished.

1. Upload Your File: Return to Fixture & Finish and click Choose File to select your saved spreadsheet, then click upload.
2. Wait for Processing: The system will process your file in the background. You will receive an in-app notification when your file is done processing. Your notification will show you exactly how many selections succeeded and how many failed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if an import fails?

If any rows in your spreadsheet fail to import (for example, due to a broken URL), you do not need to re-upload the entire spreadsheet. You can use the dedicated retry action on the import page to clear the errors, correct the specific rows, and re-process the failed imports.

Does the importer extract pricing automatically?

Yes. When you provide a product URL in the spreadsheet, our automated price extraction tool reads the page to pull the current price, unit type, and pricing labels (such as "Sale Price") directly into your library. You can also manage multiple prices for each selection later if you need to track different vendor options.

How does the system handle duplicate products?

Fixture & Finish runs an automated duplicate and variant detection scan on every import. If you import a product that already exists in your library, the system will flag it on your Duplicates Dashboard. From there, you can easily merge the duplicate selections to keep your data clean and consistent.
